Courier's Club - Glasgow and Beyond
After the post-rock intensity of Vasa, our Studio played host to the delicate melodies and impressive harmonies of Courier’s Club.
Courier's Club describe their initial line-up as, "a two-wheeled vehicle for Shins-tinged Wilco songs covered by Death Cab For Cutie and produced by The National." Even now, as a ‘four-wheeler’, we’re inclined to agree with this tongue-in-cheek self-proclamation.
Performing a stripped-back set for us, the band open their account with The Big Sleep; giving us an example of how great songwriting can come from the humblest of origins:
Having been in a number of bands and collaborations, Courier's Club are no stranger to the Glasgow Music Scene. Formed in 2014, they've toured the UK, playing a steady stream of shows in support of their debut double EPs ‘Downriver’ and ‘Upriver’ in 2015. They are now hard at work writing material for their first album.
After a chat about the cities and scenes they love, Courier's Club play the majestic: Grey and the Rust an as yet unreleased track from their forthcoming album.
